Summary of the year 2009 in music - The Polish have a voice

"While the youth triumphed in a group, not single-handed. Sinfonia Iuventus orchestra, created less than two years ago, grows for the orchestra of a great class. It is growing to give artistic experience to the best graduates of music academies in the country. Several months of work with outstanding conductors, Jerzy Semkow or Gabriel Chmura, was enough to asses the orchestra with no preferential treatment. What is more, Sinfonia Iuventus lived to see its own Jerzy Waldorff Summer Festival in the Warsaw suburb of Radziejowice. The orchestra prepared six concerts at this event, each with a different program - from Haydn and Mozart to Mendelssohn, Grieg and Karlowicz to Bernstein and Gershwin."
